Our next plans

The cruise was amazing! We made a lot of great family memories. I’ll post about our week on the Harmony of the Seas later.

We drove from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando yesterday. It took us 5 hours. And cost $36 in tolls! We have an extra axel so that adds to the price. The state of Florida had suspended all tolls for two weeks after the hurricane so this was the first time we had to pay of toll.

We are staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness campground. You would never know a hurricane came through here… they’ve cleaned everything up quickly. That’s Disney!

The girls did their school work over the weekend and will do so next weekend so we can visit a few Disney parks this week.

Today we will be visiting Epcot, then Magic Kingdom tomorrow and Animal Kingdom Wednesday. Chris will be able to meet us at Animal Kingdom after work.  No Hollywood Studios this year.

Every year we visit Disney World in December but this each we banked our timeshare week to possibly use in Hawaii.

We have never been in October so we are excited to see the Halloween decorations.

Last night we rode our bikes around the campsite and saw where RV families had gone all out decorating their site for Halloween. The resort itself doesn’t have any ‘Mickey’ decor like we expected so having all the decorated sites made you feel like you are in Disney World. We saw so many inflatables; regular jack-o-lanterns but mostly Disney character ones.

Thursday we will visit Kennedy Space Center, it was closed because of hurricane damage when we were on the Florida Coast but they have reopened.  I had pre purchased tickets so I’m glad we will be able to use them.

Friday will be a school day. We will travel to Panama City Saturday (8hrs) so that will be a school day. We will visit with my family that night before heading to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. We will stay in Biloxi for a week. My grandmother, mother and stepfather will visit us in Biloxi Tuesday-Saturday so we can spend more time with them!

Saturday, October 14th, we will drive to New Orleans, LA, where we’ll be for a week.

Hopefully our itinerary will not get chanted due to any weather issues this time! This has been good training on how to be more flexible, which was one of my goals during this adventure.

Any places we should visit on our travels from Orlando to New Orleans?

Post in the comments below. And remember to click on the green ‘follow’ button, enter your email address and you will receive an email notification that we have posted. Never miss a thing:)

Thanks for following us on this adventure of a lifetime.

Look up Lynn Meadows in Gulfport sometimes they have really cool exhibits there – there are many cool places along the gulf coast. Also Nola has a WW 2 museum, insectarium, zoo, city park…. I’ll try to think of some other things to share!

Great trip. We sure are enjoying following what you are doing. The Disney Resort at KoOlina on Oahu is great. You’ll have a blast. Jen and I sure hope you can make whale watching on Maui as well.

If you go to Maui I highly recommend doing the Road to Hana. Also, biking down the volcano. You have to wake up at like 2am but it’s SO worth it!

Yes and it’s all downhill. The Sunrise at the top of Haleakala is amazing and the bike ride is really fun. The girls will love it.
