Fort Stockton, TX

I forgot to post our stop in Fort Stockton, TX on our way to Big Bend (Lajitas, TX).

We left San Antonio and drove to Fort Stockton to spend the night because we needed to break up the trip. We try to limit the RV driving to 5 hours and the drive to Big Bend was our first through mountains so we wanted to be sure we were well rested.

The drive was very interesting. We saw a lot of wind farms and drills for oil and gas. We stopped at the visitors center and read about the history of Pecos County. We had a nice view from the front of the RV. Check out the slideshow.

Notice the world’s largest Road Runner, Paisano Pete.
