Gardner, MT

We checked out of Valley View early Saturday morning  and drove through Yellowstone with MF to Gardner, MT. We were going to have to move sites at Valley View just for the day anyway and since it was Chris’ birthday we decided to do something fun. We planned a white water rafting trip for 2:00pm. The girls have never done one before- they were supper excited. The weather was perfect!

We hung out in Mammoth Hot Springs again. We watched the Elk roam around and had lunch at the grill again.

White water rafting

We check in at the RV park and then drove into town to meet our rafting guide. This is a great company to use, I highly recommend them. We learned a lot about the rivers history, wildlife and surrounding area. Our guide pointed out a hot spring on the river bank and we paddle over and put our hands in the warm water- it was yellow so we knew the temperate would be okay for us to touch because of what we had learned in the park.

Chris’s birthday dinner

Our guide recommended The Iron House right on the water. Great casual place that we could go to with our wet swim suits on… Mackenzie and I may have had jackets and towels wrapped around us while at dinner. We had Elk Nachos, Elk burgers, Ribs and Rainbow Trout- all were excellent.

Chris opened his gifts when we got home. The girls made some fun origami for Daddy, gave him a gag gift  (underwear gloves) and two new golf clubs. Mackenzie made ‘Box Friends’ with the packaging the clubs were delivered in- meet Bertha and Billy.

We stayed at Yellowstone RV park, right on Yellowstone river. The very river we rafted on:) It was really a lovely spot, I wish we could have stayed longer.
