We were up at 4:00 am to get Chris dropped off at the airport in Orlando by 5:30am. We decided to make a day of it in Orlando. First we went to IHOP for breakfast to fuel up for a full day at Universal and Islands of Adventure. It’s Friday and we aren’t road-schooling today. Well Abby is 11, so I’ll drop her off at the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry for her first year. (We will school tomorrow because that’s the beauty of it all… we don’t have to stick to the Monday-Friday ‘normal’ schedules we’ve been accustomed to.)
Universal studios and the world of Harry Potter. The Harry Potter book series has been the girls favorite since they finished reading them last year. They didn’t wear their robes because it’s Florida in September (90degrees) but we did wear our ties. Abby is a Hufflepuff, Mackenzie is a Ravenclaw and I am alum from Gryfindor. Of course, that’s what the sorting hat app told us so it must me true.
Islands of Adventure
Apparently where squrrirels will steal your popcorn out of your hand.
At 6:00 we were exhausted and decided to head back to Daytona. We were in the car for 1.5 hours. This is what happens when you get up at 4:00am and spend the day at an amusement park.
