Birch Bay and Blaine, WA

May 12-17, 2018.

We stayed at Beachside RV Park IMG_0952on Birch Bay in Blaine, WA. We chose this location because of it’s proximity to the Canadian border so we could venture into British Columbia. We tried to stay at Lighthouse by the Bay RV Park but they wouldn’t take reservations until 7 days before you wanted to check in. We had not experienced this method before so we were concerned and for good reason- I called 7 days before and they were booked! UGH! So I started calling around and found Beachside and they had a spot- see our rig on the right  ? It actually worked out better because it was facing the bay so we could see the sunset from the front window and we met a really sweet couple from British Columbia that were parked next to us. We were said they were leaving the next morning after we had just checked in. They left a sweet note on the RV with a vinyl BC flag sticker that we immediately stuck on the RV next to our US map. IMG_0944

We spent Mother’s Day in the beautiful city of Vancouver. You can see that post next. For now, I’ll show you Birch Bay and the quant city of Blaine, WA.

We enjoyed bike rides everyday. We would ride to the State Park to explore the tide pools, watch the sunset, have ice cream and play at the playground. The weather was perfect.

The girls extracted DNA from Strawberries one day for an additional science lesson to introduce their Biology unit as we finish up with Earth Science. Check out this page if you are interested in doing this experiment.

Chris played golf at Semiahmoo Golf Course while the girls and I drove around and explored.
